Grand Tour Intaglios were originally popular mementos for the wealthy traveling Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries. Our intaglios work well as unique standalone pieces, or matched with an intaglio collection.
The story of Hylas, Heracles’ companion, is depicted here in which he’s stolen from his quest by sea nymphs enamored with his beauty. Raised in a unique plaster cast, it’s framed by light linen, an example of Greek mythology in modern art.
